Shahrukh and Kajol together on screen after such a long time. I was simply blown away by their jodi in DDLJ. but it now seems ages ago, and I really was hoping I see them in another movie. My Name Is Khan doesnot look like a fun movie like DDLJ, and I think its really going to test the acting powers of both these great actors. And with Karan Johar in the directors seat, we can be sure to see magic on screen.

Am not sure whether to treat My Name is Khan as a romantic movie or a serious drama, probably its a mix of both. It feels good when Bollywood filmmakerscome up with sensitive and serious projects like the 9/11 attacks. I sincerely hope  the movie doesnot fire up any controversies.

Last weekend The Book of Eli knocked Avatar out of first place for a day, but that was all it could manage before settling into second place. And this weekend three new, and very different, films are going to try and topple Avatar from the top of the charts. One (that wasn’t screened for critics) finds Archangel Michael helping to save mankind from being wiped out and one new opener has Harrison Ford as a scientist working on the cure for a fatal disease. And then there’s Dwayne Johnson in a tutu and fairy wings…

In a super competitive category, the 2010 Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role went to Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side. Bullock also won the Golden Globe for Best Actress and tied with Meryl Streep as co-winners of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Best Actress award. “If this were only not televised so I could use the appropriate words I’m feeling right now,” joked Bullock upon receiving her trophy.

“I’m Sandra Bullock, and I’m an actor. And I am so proud to say that in a room full of faces that have inspired me and allowed me six years ago to say, ‘I’m going to stop working,’ – because I wasn’t doing good work – and audition again. And you said good-bye to the money, and you say good-bye to all the things that you became comfortable with. And in 2006, I sat in this room with a little film called Crash and I got to look at the people who got me here. So to the Screen Actors Guild, thank you so much.”

Bullock also spoke directly to her husband, Jesse James. “You get dressed in monkey suits and you sit at tables with people you don’t know. And I leave you there and then you come back with Morgan Freeman’s email…I don’t know how you do it. I love you so much and you’re really hot.
